Formula One Funding

There are a variety of types of funding and profits that are available through Formula One racing. Through the use of television deals and sponsorship, teams are able to contribute millions of dollars to the vehicles that are used, as well as the events which are placed throughout the racing organization. When it comes to making money through the sport of Formula One racing, it is like many other sports in the way that advertisers are willing to pay high amounts of money for coverage through the event. These advertisers are willing to pay premium amounts for a spot through the season – even through the qualifying matches that are televised and in between the television events with the top dollar coming from higher amounts that are paid through the events like Grand Prix races.

Advertising through the races that occur throughout the Formula 1 organization is the number one way that income is generated through the sport. Advertisers are willing to pay for even product placement throughout interviews and other situations that exist within the race – or time on the billboards, as well as through the set up which is completed for the race.

The second most lucrative funding that comes in formula one racing comes from the sponsorship. Each team or sometimes each driver takes part in various sponsorship partnerships and therefore the sponsor will often fund the expenses for the team, including the salary of the driver, as well as all of the equipment that is used within the race in exchange for the display of the sponsor’s logo and products – another way to advertise throughout the race. In most cases, each team has only one partnership with a sponsor to avoid brand confusion or conflict within the sponsorships.
